      Rev. Lewis W. Verts, 82, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was born Nov. 6, 1886 near Boonville, son of Joe and Florence Figgins Verts. he married Hazel Nowlin on Aug. 19, 1817, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.

      Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Seery, three brothers Charles, Harry and Joseph Verts, and one sister, Ada Windsor. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Jim, Roger, Roy and Ernest Verts, and one sister, Eula Nowlin.
