He married Hypatia Isabelle Poffenbarger. She was born February 2, 1907 in Woodsboro, Maryland and died January 12, 1990 in Lovettsville. Both are buried in the Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, Virginia.

Loudoun Times Mirror, February 21, 1985. Fred Lee George, 80, a
lifelong farmer in Lovettsville and retired B&O Railroad brakeman with 30 years of service, died Feb. 16 at his Lovettsville home. Born Jan. 21, 1905 in Lovettsville, Mr. George was a son of Samuel H. And Cecelia McKimmey George. Surviving are his wife of 59 years Hypatia P. George of the home; two daughters, Hypatia G. Hawes and Nancy G. Mullen, Lovettsville; two sons, Fred Lee (Pete) George, Jr. of Lovettsville and Henry St. Clair George, Damascus, Md.; three sisters, Edna Albaugh, Falls Church, Eliza Myers of Lovettsville and Margaret Kenna, Vienna. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.
