Calvin Leslie Everhart, "King Fish," 95, a lifelong resident of Lovettsville, Va., died June 21, 2008, in Louisa, Va. Mr. Everhart was born April 25, 1915, in Lovettsville to the late Charles Lincoln and Mary Melva Evans Everhart. His wife of 70 years, Dorothy Wenner Everhart; son, Carlton Leslie Everhart; granddaughter, Jeannie Everhart; and a daughter-in-law, Joan L. Everhart also predeceased him. Mr. Everhart worked on the family farm for many years as a young man. He had also worked with the B&O Railroad, Brunswick, from 1944 until diesel locomotives took over for steam engines in 1959. Perhaps he was best known as "a junk man," as he proudly called himself. He operated a junkyard located at his home on South Church Street in Lovettsville from 1939 to 1975. Mr. Everhart was a lifelong member of the Lovettsville Fire Dept. Mr. Everhart helped the Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue run their bingo games on Saturday nights for more than 15 years. Mr. Everhart was also a charter member of the Lovettsville Game Protection Association. Mr. Everhart is survived by one son, Milford Eugene Everhart of Mineral, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth M. Everhart of Hagerstown; one brother, Charles Everhart of Lovettsville, Va.; three grandsons, Richard, Paul, Glenn; and seven great-grandchildren. Following visitation from noon to 1 p.m., a funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 25, at Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 34 E. Broad Way, Lovettsville, with Rev. Roland England officiating In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 123, Lovettsville, VA 20180 or Lovettsville Game Protection Association, P.O. Box 101, Lovettsville, VA 20180. Arrangements are by Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapels, Lovettsville, Va.
