- Charles D. Baker died at his home near Lovettsville, VA., early Sunday morning, October 10, of chronic myocarditis aged 87. He was the son of the late Daniel and Lydia Bitzer Baker and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rosa E. Baker, one son, Wilmer Baker, three daughters, Mrs. Harry Wilt, Mrs. J.W. Cole, and Mrs. Robert Stone, all of near Lovettsville; four sisters Mrs. Mollie Frye, Mrs. Rosa Mason, and Mrs. Gertrude Bramhall of near Lovettsville, and Mrs. Sarah Grossman, of Springfield, Ills. and several grandchildren.
The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock from his late home with services by Rev. A.J. Tobler, pastor of NJ [New Jerusalem] Lutheran Church. The pallbearers were the grandsons of the deceased: James Baker, Thorton Wilt, Lloyd Wilt, Lester Cole, William Kent, and Melvin Frye. Interment was in Hillsboro, VA. Brown Brothers were the funeral directors.
