 | Charles Chester Virts and Ida Catherine Constable Charles was born in 1870 to James Madison Wix and Lydia Catherine Reed Virts. He died March 15, 1918 in West Virginia. He married Ida Catherine Constable on December 25, 1892. She was born March 13, 1873 in St. George, West Virginia and died November 28, 1962 in Keyser, West Virginia. Both are buried in Damon Cemetery, Newburg, West Virginia.

C.C. Virts, of Newburg, a well know Cumberland division engineer, who was operated upon at the city hospital Thursday for an inward goiter, was unable to withstand the severe operation and succumbed last Friday evening at 6:30 o'clock. The deceased gentleman leaves a wife and six children, two of whom are married and four at home. He was brother of Mrs. M.L. Matheny, of this city. The body was taken to Newburg for burial. Mr. Virts was highly respected citizen of Newburg and was a member of the town council and a prominent member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was aged forty-eight years old. Mr. Virts formerly resided here. He leaves a wife and six children, his father, J.W. Virts, one brother Yardmaster W.H. Virts, of Keyser, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Martin, Keyser, and Mrs. W.J. Shanholtzer, Newport News.
