Sarah was born December 15, 1863 in Knoxville, Maryland to Cornelius William and Catherine Ellen Enniss Virts. She died January 14, 1901 in Frederick County, Maryland. She married John Harp Eldridge on November 30, 1881. He was born January 5, 1854 in Myersville, Maryland and died August 7, 1930 in Washington County, Maryland. Both are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, Maryland.

JOHN H. ELDRIDGE, well known retired farmer, died at the home of his son, Charles A. Eldridge, 538 Guilford avenue early Thursday morning, of complications, after an illness of two months, aged 77 years.
He was born and reared in Frederick county, the son of Andrew Cole and Caroline (Harp)) Eldridge.
He moved to this county 37 years ago.
His father was the only man in his district to vote for Freemont for president.
Mr. Eldridge was a member of the U. B. Church.
The following survive: Children, Mrs. Viola C. Elliott, Charles A., Clarence V., and Russell A., Hagerstown, and John W., Myersville; brother, George C., Myersville.
Funeral Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, services at the Antietam U. B. Church, Rev. Daniel Powell, assisted by Rev. B. F. Blubaugh, officiating. Interment at Rose Hill. His remains can be viewed at the home, the casket not being opened at the church.
