Notes |
- Dorothy M. Veatch, 87, passed away peacefully April 28, 2004. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 30, also at the Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dorothy was born on February 12, 1917, in KC, MO. After the death of her husband, Irving Reynolds Veatch, in 1955, she was employed as a drafting technician at the Army Map Service for 21 years. She was an active member of the ABWA and the local Garden Club, utilizing her creative and artistic talents. Dorothy will be greatly missed by friends and family who loved her. Her life was an example of love and devotion to everything she believed in. She touched the lives of thousands as a faithful children's Sunday school leader and church choir member for 53 years. Balancing work, church, and the raising of three small children, she never thought of herself but only of the care and well-being of others. Dorothy once wrote in her journal, "when the time comes I will go willingly and have no regrets. After all, I know heaven will be wonderful, and I have Jesus." Well done, thou good and faithful servant, we'll miss you.
