James K. Norman, 67, of 21080 State Rt. 751, West Lafayette, died at West Lafayette Tuesday, March 18, at 6 p.m.
He was born at Coshocton, O., Nov. 13, 1935, a son of the late Thomas C. and Dorothy (Brewer) Norman.
He was a 1953 graduate of West Lafayette High School and was employed 31 years by the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. of Coshocton. He was a member of West Lafayette United Methodist Church; a life member of FCC Amateur Radio Club QCWA at Canton, O.; Coconuts Ham Radio Club at Coshocton; West Lafayette Masonic Lodge, F. & A.M., No. 602; OES No. 157; Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge; Knights Templar No. 63; Knights of the York Cross No. 18; Grand Council Royal & Select Masons Coshocton Council No. 110; life member Mason Eye Foundation; and Samaritan Chapter No. 50.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta (Hill) Norman, whom he married Nov. 18, 1956; three daughters, Alice Halvorsen (Darwin) of Pataskala, O., Brenda Hebron (Jerome) of West Lafayette, O., and Cindy Arnold (Steve) of Port Washington; four grandchildren, Scott Reed, Kyle Reed, Keith Arnold and Brianna Arnold; and two brothers, Harry E. Norman (Kay) of Thornton, Colo., and Thomas Norman (Marilyn) of Holland, Mich. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceding him in death were one sister, Lois Leech, and a brother-in-law, David.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, at 1 p.m. in Given-Dawson West Lafayette Funeral Home with Pastor James Lee officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery at West Lafayette. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20, in Given-Dawson West Lafayette Funeral Home with Masonic service at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
