Hilda C. Watts, 85, Flora, died Monday, July 31, 1995, in the Brethren Healthcare Center, Flora, what she had been a resident since 1990.
Born Feb. 16, 1910, in Jefferson Township, Carroll County, she was the daughter of Walter H. and Nellie Armstrong Casad. She was married in 1948 Logansport to William Watts, who died in 1969.
A homemaker, Mrs. Watts was the first female manager of an Indianapolis Kroger Grocery, managing six years in Zionsville. She was a member of Flora Presbyterian Church, and a former member of Lebanon Presbyterian, serving as ruling elder at both churches. She agenized the Danny Kay "Christian Children Fund" in western Kentucky and western Tennessee. She was a Brethren Village resident from 1974 to 1990.
Surviving are two nephews and a niece. Three sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Flora, with Pastor Charles Compton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Flora Presbyterian Women's Mission Fund.
