- Verna E. Dillon, 83, of Eaton, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Hospice of Dayton. Born July 1, 1921, in London, Ky., she was the daughter of John and Susie (Neal) Cottingim. She married Lloyd D. Dillon on Aug. 14, 1940. She and her husband farmed for many years. Mrs. Dillon was a member of Darrtown Methodist Church.
Survivors include four children, Joseph H. Dillon and Robert E. Dillon, both of Camden, Wanda Jane (Robert) Butler of West Milton and Jackie L. (David) Gard of Richmond, Ind.; one brother, Russell Cottingim of Camden; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Fred Cottingim, Elmer Cottingim, Leslie Cottingim, Sherman Cottingim and Ellis Cottingim; three sisters, Mabel Monce, Myrtle Michael and Carrie Brummett; two grandsons, Daniel Butler and Nicholas Butler.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 17, at Nein-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, with Pastor Dennis Metzger officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Camden.
