SWARTHOUT LORRAINE RUTH Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Lutheran Manor, age 83 years. Lorraine was born in Saginaw, Michigan July 30, 1929 the daughter of the late Fred J. and Clara (Koehn) Heidmann. She married Ronald S. Swarthout May 21, 1966 and he survives her. Lorraine was a life long member of St. John's Episcopal Church; a 50 plus year member of the Women of the Moose, Saginaw Lodge No. 420; a 50 year member of Martha Washington Chapter No. 113, OES; Saginaw Genealogical Society, Inc. where she served as the treasurer and archivist. She assisted her husband in many of his associations and conventions. She was an active volunteer for the American Heart Association, Voluntary Action Center and READ Program. In addition to her husband, Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Major Amy L. Swarthout Ebarb and her husband, Major Omar Ebarb, both of the USAF; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Jackson and Bertie Schneider; three brothers-in-law, Chester Swarthout, Barton Swarthout and Maurice Swarthout and several cousins. The funeral service will take place 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 17 at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. where they may join the family for a memorial service conducted by Martha Washington, Chapter No. 113, OES and on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
