- She was born Jan. 26, 1917, in Douglas County, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Schuler Muckey. Mrs. Grammer was a homemaker. She also worked as a nurse's aide at LMH for 23 years before retiring in 1981.She was a member of the Old German Baptist Church since 1931.
She married Sam Grammer on Dec. 16, 1936, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Fredrick and Donald, both of Lawrence; a daughter, Sandra Donner, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Old German Baptist Church in care of Rumsey Funeral Home. Mrs. Grammer died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1993, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Services for Ruth May Grammer, 76, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Old German Baptist Meeting House in Willow Springs, with John Beeghley, Darrell Shuck and Lester Flory officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
